Ones that have information like what high school they went to is not necessary.
Make Up schools and Hairdressing schools yes, but everything you have done since you where 15 is not necessary.
I know it fills out the pages, but I am only interested in what work you have done NOW.
If you are fresh out of Make Up school attach a cover letter and say you are just starting out and want to make this your career. Trust me all the HOD get it!!!!!
As far as the photo's that you include, PLEASE make them the GOOD ones. My first reaction to a bad photo is ...oh my dear...
they just don't get it. We all have makeup school photo's that we thought where really cool, but they are usually NOT so don't include them if they are average.
If you have passed makeup school you will have lots of photo's of injuries, bad laying of hair, and basic period makeups. Leave them in your draw until you get to do a controlled shoot away from school. After all practice makes perfect ! We all know they teach you these makeups.
My hint is to add 1, 2 or 3 amazing photo's instead of 10 bad ones. If I see just one great photo it makes me thing ' POTENTIAL ' then I will most likely contact you and arrange a meeting to perhaps be a assistant makeup artist on the next film or recommend you to another HOD.
We need new and fresh people in this crazy business so make your first move the one that gets you in the door. The rest is up to YOU. ...........good luck KymMovie Make Up - Kym Sainsburyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00316571519574432417noreply@blogger.com
